Building Alaska Better: 67 Pieces. One PowerFUL Precast Structure.

DEMO Home Phase II Progress

In Nikiski, the next phase of our pilot home continues to demonstrate what modern precast construction can look like in Alaska.

Since our last update, crews have advanced the structure through roof assembly and begun cutting the rough door and window openings—further transforming the building into a completed structural shell.

What makes this project unique is not just the speed of assembly, but the system itself.

The structure is assembled from just 67 individual precast components—floor panels, wall panels, and roof sections—linked together with precision to create a unified structural system. Much like large-scale building blocks, each piece is manufactured to exact specifications, then delivered and installed in sequence on site. Once erected and welded together, the system forms an exceptionally durable structure designed to perform in Alaska’s demanding climate conditions.

And while this example structure happens to be a home, the same approach could support a wide range of applications across Alaska communities—from clinics and workforce housing to utility buildings, emergency response facilities, schools, and other critical infrastructure.

The ability to rapidly assemble durable structures with greater predictability has the potential to change how remote and rural projects are approached across the state.

Looking Ahead

Over the coming weeks, our team will shift focus toward continued progress on the Alaska Precast Solutions manufacturing facility itself before returning to the next stages of the demo home.

When work resumes, upcoming phases will include installation of magnesium oxide insulated panel systems and exterior finishes. We look forward to sharing those next milestones soon.

In the meantime, we invite you to continue following along on Instagram and LinkedIn for additional updates, videos, and behind-the-scenes progress from the site.
